I celebrated by inking up a new bronze Lamy Al-Star with some KWZ Honey and buying a green ysutdio Classic Revolve. I love my ystudio Brassing portable except for the Schmidt nib it came with so I’m excited to see how ystudio’s new nib writes.

There are a few opening song riffs that can immediately transport me back to a time and place. When I hear the beginning of “Alive”, it’s 1991 and I’m in Troy, NY. “Ten” was released on this day, 30 years ago. 🎵

View from our beach hut, Eleuthera, Bahamas. My dad and I built this in 2013. It’s made it through a few big storms, been completely under water more than once, but is still standing.

I own A LOT of pocket notebooks. Perhaps more than I’ll ever get around to using, which is why I usually kick myself for buying even more. But this collaboration between Railway Station Press and Story Supply Co is a home run. 🖋📝

Last back to school drop off for our oldest as she starts her senior year at Cornell.

🖋New pen day. Tactile Turn Nautilus. I bought the short version to better fit in my pocket and cut down a Zebra Sarasa Camel Yellow refill to fit. It seems to fit just fine. The ink color goes well with the gold accents.

About 900 pages in I was thinking “this is good, but it could be a lot shorter”, then the story took off and all the setup was worth it. 8/10⭐️

The Olympics have ended, so Settlers has restarted in our house. I came from way back for the win.

I enjoyed reading about the 80s culture of my childhood through the eyes of someone not in the US. A fun read, especially if you’re a Men in Blazers fan.

Finished reading: The Art of the National Parks by Fifty-Nine Parks 📚

This is a gorgeous book of the Fifty-Nine Parks poster series. Each park gets a two page spread of the poster and a writeup about the park. I really enjoyed it.
